The ability of taste is back

 

I can barely catch food's flavours from today. But it is only the beginning of the bite. It is still quite subtle. And with no smell. My voice was not clear till yesterday. Today, I can sing, but with a little cough. 

Hoping get better than today and want to see the gorgeous beard man soon if he returns to Tokyo.

COVID- 19 FREE

Tested the COVID-19 check kit again this afternoon. The previous check kit was ￥ 800 at a pharmaceutical store. And the latest one at a general drag store was ￥ 1,800. The previous reasonable one could be hospital use. I was able to buy one piece of bulk sale, maybe. Why so the price was different!!!

I was very nervous when opening this box. 

Followed this process.

It was less than 15 minutes (actually within 2 minutes). I found the result. 

Negative!!! 

I am so glad that it looks obviously C!

But the taste is not back, nor the smell. Again I strongly defined that I am not OK.

Therefore, I do not go to work by the end of the month.

Anyway, I can sleep well tonight.

COVID- 19 , the day 10

Let me talk about this first. On the evening of 15th August,  It suddenly changed. The symptoms were not different from the usual catch cold. Normally, it recovers soon after the body temperature gets normal. I was still exhausted on Monday, 19th Aug somewhat. Although, I could reach the workplace, too tired to do anything. My colleagues suggested I go home. At that time, I did not recognise that I was infected though, I was wearing a face cover which may have saved their life. No one infected so far. 

 Nothing different from usual symptoms like catching a cold till Monday morning. I stopped by the food shops at Shinagawa station and I was excited to eat Obento at home. 

I could feel so much texture, but no taste, nor the smell...

I dashed to a drag store nearby to get a check- kit.

And the result was what I imagined. It showed POSITIVE. It shocked me a lot. 

I have not tested yet after 19th Aug. Maybe tomorrow go to buy a check - kit again.

I decided not to go to the workplace by September.  Because I am not sure enough that I will be OK. I ate foods with no flavour today too,

He may have returned to Tokyo from the US.  I think of him every day. I love his fluffy brown colour hair.

I have done the booster shot

 Did you get 3rd dose yet? I did it a day before yesterday and was laying the entire yesterday. It is caused by fever and exhaustion. My headache continues today too.

The booking of 3rd dose was quick. Only 5 days after the booking contact, I got the shot within 10 minutes after entering the door. The best thing is nothing significant happened after the shot.

COVID infection per day happens in 2,000 people on average in Tokyo in recent days. The number of death and people who get coma is quite a few now. However, the day of no mask is nearly coming. I may not able to avoid the infection at least once eventually, even if it is not significant. 

In western countries, some restrictions seem to have already been mitigated. It looks unmasks are OK in public. Immunity does happen?  They improve so fast.  In Japan, I often walk near a facility of a big concert event. Recently I saw a big queue of music fans with masks around there. And we still face-covering in people's gatherings is compulsory. The current condition would continue longer than the other countries think.

The report of Japan's COVID-19 today. The status has been very very nice. It is almost for 2weeks stable condition like today's number. But people are careful. Vaccination and wearing masks are the provable reason. Hope the status like today will be continuing until endemic.

However, the bad news is coming. Omicron landed on 27th and on the 29th of last month. Total 2people were quarantined. 

I wonder when this pandemic would be ending...

I have got it too yesterday and it was so sudden

 I got a phone call yesterday from the clinic where I booked the corona 2 vaccines. Then I quickly thought that it might be somebody has cancelled. 

Yes, it was.

"Can you come here soon?" the clinic's woman said. That was so sudden. No expectation. It was at 5 past 12am. I frantically wrote the medical examination sheet immediately after the talk and pushed it into my bag. And dashed to the clinic.

At 5 past 1 pm, my left arm got shot. That was Pfizer.  The first dose has been done successfully. My arm did not feel the needle at all. (Scariest moment to feel the needle, to be honest)

I was very lucky. Because frightening days until the booking date has gone. I do not have to be ready for the new experience any longer. (was so scary)

Last night when I fell asleep, wished to open my eyes the tomorrow morning. 

My sore arm is moving slowly still now from last evening. It is unlikely to rise. Nothing else happened.

The 2nd dose comes in the next month. Hope it is going to be done successfully again.

I tried again and again. Finally,...

You may wonder what I achieved. That is finally I got booking of corona vaccine for 2 shots. The first one is in October and the 2nd in November.

I had been trying for more than 3 weeks. And both are likely Pfizer. A large hall near Yokohama harbour has been opened for the vaccination, where  3,000 shots a day are available. I do not remember how many times tried to book it. It all failed. Then, I thought of clinics. Their capacity is small (only a couple of shots a day). But finally, finally booked a clinic near my flat. I can sleep well tonight. 

The rampage of the delta variant in August 2021

Have you done 2 shots yet? I have not yet done it. I have been trying to book it 3 times or more. Basically, the vaccine shortage is happening everywhere in my country at the moment. When I can book it, I will get shots. I am not worrying at all. There are other places vaccines are available I know but it's too far from my place. I want to get the vaccination spot by walk. Not want to get a train for it. 

Tokyo has daily more than 5,000 infected cases for more than a week now. More than 10,000 people in Tokyo are waiting at home to be hospitalised. A couple of cases are losing their lives each day at home. Bed's number in hospitals is running out normally now, unfortunately. You can not expect to meet with them even if you got an ambulance car now. The rescuers make phone calls to 10 to 100 hospitals to seek acceptance.  

Here Kanagawa-ken has 2,000 cases every day for a week until today. The facility's number is not enough for the COVID patients for days in my area as well.

While the sad news, I am studying about this virus by watching Dr Johon Cambell's academic YouTube videos almost daily. 

Yesterday, Japanese news said that a Japan-made vaccine by SHIONOGI pharmaceutical company is finally going to be the first test before the real use. It could be available for real public use within this year. I longed to hear that.

In most cases of the infection likely causes the delta variant now. I will wear double musks outside until getting shots.  Keep clean and eat nutritious foods!

Rushing to get done the vaccination for all citizens in Japan it is like a vaccination Olympics

As of 1st June, the 1st dose had been done was 4.51%, compleated the 2nd dose was 0.37% of the whole population in my country. Every prefecture's governors are competitively organising the doses. That is like every prefecture running on the circuit. The fastest runner is Tokyo area now.

A couple of days ago, big famous Japanese companies were allowed the vaccination at their companies' property for the employees includes the families. It will begin from 21st in this month.

In Yokohama-city, even dentists come to support the injection to solve the doctor shortage. 😳Ohhh,,,

We have been watching the news from the UK or the US. It is hard to ignore their smiles with no masks and restarting the business, it seems like before.  

About 50 days later, Tokyo Olympics is going to be held in a quite risky situation. Japanese doctors' union is continuously and steadfastly alerting on it. That's a normal suggestion! The doctors, nurses and facility those numbers are not enough for even citizens right now. Sending those specialists to the big event should be the toughest decision. 

Now it's vaccination chaos happening. The careless mistake seems to happen too often during the injection activity. Fridge's plug off and misuses the vaccines which were in that fridge. Twice shots for one person within a day. Forget the vaccine's dilution. Calm down, doctors!!

Likewise, I hear almost every day by the news, am not dashing to vaccination now. I do not hate wearing a mask at all. And I will not go near the Olympic's spaces to support the hospital's staffs. I know it's boring.

 It has been about 3 weeks since the last update. How is your life in quarantine going? Has the vaccination begun yet in your country? That has been started in mid-February in my country. Doctors or nurses are prioritised to get the vaccine first and any of the general citizens have not got so far in Japan. It has been only a few weeks now. The confirmed case of COVID number in Tokyo was 337 yesterday and it is 121 today. The whole of the country's total number was 1201. We are in quite good progress even without vaccines so far. The recognisable great point Would be Japanese people did not complain about wearing masks, I can say. I have not heard even once that anybody against that thing. The people are courageous to do it. It is needed a lot of patience. However, I all the time think if this was the war instead of the contagious virus. Fortunately, I can patiently find joys inside of the house. Also, I am hopeful this will be ended eventually despite it may take more years. I am looking forward to feeling a new time after this pandemic.

Japan's west area will be released from quarantine tonight

Thank you for interesting in making masks I planned. Lots of people came to this blog last week. I did not expect at all. I hope that you enjoyed crafting and the mask fits for everyone's face. And I appreciated that you come again here.

In my country Japan now, 39 prefectures reopened last week and 3 prefectures ( Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo) will do tonight. Our prime minister Mr Abe will announce tonight. And now only the east area ( Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama) and Hokkaido- prefecture left in quarantine yet. My city Yokohama has not reopened yet literary.

How is your life in your country under this COVID situation now? Can you buy the foods you want? Have you seen any significant shortage so far? In my experience, toilet paper did not appear in any shops nearby 2 more months. I have not seen kinds of pasta and any type of pancake flour. It's an empty shelf these 2 weeks. I am missing banana pancakes these days.

Isolation is OK for me. I can focus on myself or making something. I can enjoy enough in my room. I feel uncertainty outside with no vaccination or medicine.

Japan is also inventing vaccines, which will be readied in this Autumn. Osaka University and national laboratory have been working together according to the latest news.

I have started to work on this textile today, a polyester georgette.

The georgette is very thin and see-through fabric. The great point is nicely cool and dry soon after washing. I will show you what it went in a few weeks.

COVID-19 upside down humans in three months

It has been more than three months since a face mask has been needed. Personally, I have started to wear it at the beginning of this February. Yokohama citizens were keen and cautious since got the news about the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which was at Yokohama harbour then.     

My personal aspect was that Japan would have got the hardest hit by COVID-19 in those days except China. Somehow the spreading speed is the slowest in the world today. Although the confirmed cases and the fatalities are lower, the Japanese have been preparing against more damages. Our quarantine is still ongoing. It will be by the end of this month, the Japanese government said as if 4th May.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 have struck Italy. And in the same way, America becomes a hot spot. Now the UK is following the number of the death toll after the US.

Some people are wondering why the pace is slow in Japan?  the infection & death, both lower. As you may know, shaking hands, hug each other or walking in your shoes in your house, these things rarely happen in my country. It could have saved from the severe infection. Besides, Japanese does not hate wearing a face mask basically. We would rather like it, especially during the winter season.

I have ever got a medical test yet. Any strange symptom has been seen in my health condition so far. Where I went out since March is only nearby, a supermarket and a pharmacy. According to the US's news, despite people have no symptom, some of them are COVID-19 positive.  That's tricky! 

 About this September vaccination may begin. Oxford University predicted a few weeks ago.  Almost all humans may get the vaccine coming decades.

Many people talk about a new normal life. I am willing to see what seems to be. My expectation is that humans respect natural species more than before. Naturals upside down humans in 3 months. They hit hard us. We have to share kindly this earth with all other species together. Whatever falls on us, it's thrilling to feel the transition.

Japan's quarantine (only 7 cities) has officially started since today.

 How are you doing in your days of quarantine? My health is all good at the moment.

My country, Japan has started it officially today. But it is unlike the US or UK. Japan's is softer than their's one. Since today it would be called self- isolation if you say. It is not lockdown. Only 7 big cities in Japan by 7th May. No punishment and not any strong restrictions at all. Actually, you can go to work. Japanese government suggest you only go out to get essential things. They would like to say it is for foods and pharmacy only. Maybe it is considered Japan's economy thing. Any shops or company can open but think about it yourself carefully, the government would like to say.

I am personally doing it already since that huge ship of Diamond Princess came to Yokohama harbour. The situation is now getting worse. It is hard to get toilet papers for more than one month. I have not seen in any shops nearby. What the F✲ck!

In this unthinkable special time, I could feel we are all together. Certainly one world. Almost all the people talking about Coronavirus.

Coronavirus makes me nervous and job hunting

Masked population rapidly increased. I went out shopping this morning. More than 90% of neighbours wear a doctor- mask outside now. There is no particular cautious area, places where the victims' life base is scattered all over Japan island. The number of victims is absolutely higher in capital cities than the other small towns. It is the doubtful and fearful moment while being in trains or buildings.

And I am going to talk what about my new job hunting is that this Monday I received the result of a job interview at a company in Minatomirai. ... I will find another job requirement! A little bit disappointed. But I am all right now!

Hopefully, being immersed in English speakers or international multiple nationals is ideal for me in order to hold the English language skill in Japan. I am so obsessed with this. I hope to tell you about my new job possibly soon.

About one thirds of the people near Yokohama harbour wore doctor's mask

As you may know, the number of people infected with Coronavirus has raised after the last time I wrote in my blog. The medical test had not compleated yet in that luxurious cruise ship when I updated last time.

Yesterday I had a job interview at one newest building nearby Minatomirai station ( two next to the Yokohama harbour area), so I got there. In the public areas near the station, it was quite spacious, open-aired and where was newly established clean design modern place. It is only 10 years that the building has opened.

One of three people were wearing the mask ( from my personal count). I wore and was one of about 30% of the people. Some women pushing a baby car did not wear. Nor men who manage the traffic on the street and many toddlers back from school. People could believe " I would be OK. "

In the building where I had the interview, less number of people than those publics wore the masks despite they have various visitors and several companies are accommodated by the floors. They may believe that such significance unlikely happens here. People in Yokohama may only notice that cruise ship. Or It is surreal for them. Perhaps, they are too being busy to think about it, which is even a dangerous disease.

And today I got the passport office near Nihon-Odori station, where is close to that harbour. My passport was needed a validation. It was not much difference in the number of unmasked or masked people. It was again roughly one-third of the people did wore. About less than half of the officers as well. 

According to Japan's local news a few days ago, a taxi driver infected with the virus. What terrified me is that the area was Shizuoka-prefecture, where is not close to the international airport, nor crowded city for the sightseeing. 

I have no idea how much I need to take self-care now against that virus. I will do the best I could anyway. I am going out with a mask. When I get home from the outside, will do gargle and wash hands with soap every time.

Winter is leaving, the Ume nearby is blooming and the vigilance against Coronavirus

It is gale tonight, dry and cold as well. When the very very beginning of Spring usually it happens. The Winter weather is switching to a new spring, day by day. Do you know an Ume tree? Some people call it a Japanese apricot tree. The flowers bloom in February. Yes, it is the time!   

There is an abandoned hat (or an old house) nearby. In the same property, I can see a tall old Ume tree from my sight. This tree does not provide fruit. ( the other type make apricots) From the last week, the flowers are blooming, which tells me that the new Spring is almost there. 

By the way,  nobody can ignore the news of Coronavirus now in Japan. A huge foreign vessel had been forced to stop on the sea near Yokohama harbour yesterday in order to get all passengers and crews total 3,400 people for the medical check, then found 10 people were positive with that virus, according to Japan local news. 

Residential areas I saw about half of the people wear a doctor's mask. In the supermarket too. Many of pharmacy have not enough stocks of the doctor's mask now. And I could not buy an ethanol bottle yesterday. It is a shortage. The shop clerk said, " Suppliers are rushing up, but we don't know when it comes to our shop and to elsewhere too." I 've got nervous. That phenomenon is scary. It is not about own protection. I just want to make an original skin lotion with the ethanol for the self-use.  

Hope that everything gets normal and people have been infected with the virus will be cured as soon as possible.
