What environment would you prefer, if you live somewhere for your retirement life? Urbane or country side? Seaside, lake, river, mountain, forest, Onsen, in a small island, or in a small town...
If I can choose, I like to live in a seaside town or near a lake. That is because my back home town is close to the sea. I grow up in the sea breeze environment. Scissors become rusty.
I can feel the difference between the people live in mountain and near to the sea. My mother from Wake- gun, Okayama- ken. She used to live in a tiny tiny tiny community (village) in the mountain like a fairy tale. There was no any shops in the community. A tiny track comes as a shop once a week. You have to ask previous week if you want a specific something. The track shop brings it for you. My mom and me used to visit my mom's parents once a year. You can imagine how small is. It is really surprising! I remember that people live in the village are patient and quiet (or shy) compare to people live near to the seaside.
The seaside people tend to be cheerful, bold and chatty. I grow up in such a bustling environment. I had a friend who from Awaji island close to Kobe city. She and her family and neighbours were also so so chatty and friendly. I felt we are the common.
I have been to Ushimado, Okayama- ken in 2016. I drove a car by myself, then I thought this maybe a nice place to live as same as my back home. It is a resort, rural seaside town. The weather is like Italy. The best place to crop Olives in Japan it is included Shodo island too. You will imagine the spot as if Scily (of Italy) in Japan really.
What environment makes you relax or want to live, if you have a permanent home? Have you thought about it?
Thank you for coming. Good night, x
