How do you maintain your woolly sweaters? Do you ask it to a dry cleaning shop?
I do it myself.
Especially, when wearing the sweater directly on the skin, I wash within a day.
Buy a washing liquid for woolly garments. You can get it at the supermarket or a drugstore.
Use a bathroom sink. Put your sweater in it, and pour plenty of general water (below 30℃ ).
Avoid hot water! It shrinks the wool-type garments.
And pour the liquid.
About half of the cup will be enough for that amount of water.
Gentry presses about 5 to 10 times and leaves for 15 to 25 minutes.
Squeeze the sweater with hands gentry. Change to the new water 2 to 3 times. (I do change the water twice)
Gentry put the washed sweater on a bar to dry. Ideally, in a shade. Avoid hanging with clothes pegs, as this can cause it to stretch.
Do not stretch to make it flat!
You can make a beautifully flat finish to the dried sweater with ironing.
I have had this sweater for 26 years, wearing it a couple of times a year. It is still in great condition.
Wash carefully, your sweater could last longer.
