Vermont Curry -Japanese most well known curry paste

Vermont Curry - バーモントカレー
This curry paste would be one of the most famous or well known all over the world as Japanese curry. You can buy the paste in many countries actually. Oriental foods shops should sell the curry paste. This could be the most standard domestic curry taste in Japan. It is cost-friendly and easy-cook.

There are 3 spicy levels, this green label is the level medium.
This curry brand's company has been established in one -hundred years ago, it is being loved for many years in Japan. Probably you can find this package in any Japanese supermarket, I think.

This should be a global package design ( The red label; least spicy type)

When I lived in Glasgow, Scotland, I have bought once Vermont curry at a Chinese foods market near Caledonian University.

In my childhood, almost every Sunday lunch was this curry at home. My mother used to cook for the family. In those days, this curry was very famously commercialised by a young pop star. Kids used to enjoy doing idol's impressions of the curry's commercial in the school. And the great thing is that it is still a reasonable price, I always keep one in my food shelf.

How to cook is easy. It is like a way of making a soup or a stew. If you have a slow cooker, that's also good! Firstly, prepare the rice. Thai, Vietnam, Japan or what so ever any type of rice should be OK for this.

Open the package.

There are 2 sets in the box.

You can keep one set of them for the next time like above.

This is for about 3-4 people.
Meat, carrot, potato and onion is a basic ingredient.
You can arrange what so ever if you like seafood, mushroom, corn and so on, would be delicious.

I did not add oil as meat is enough greasy. Saute meat & veggies.

Add water about 700ml and boil up.

Make the paste block by block and add the pot.

Boil with the smallest fire and stir often.

That's it.

If you have a chance in your country, try it! You will like it.

This is the House Foods' official YouTube ( the way of cooking curry). I could not find the English language version but I think you could understand what to do.
