NANTEN (ornament)

It is very winter recent days. This plant is called " 南天(ナンテン)"  NANTEN in my country.

Heavenly bamboo nandina or Nandina domestica

It normally has many berries in the winter season.

And has deep green leaves, which are slightly covered with a dark red colour. It is the season now.    From November to February.

I often see that plant in the traditional type of house's gate or a garden. Particularly, it is at the northeast or southwest. It should be about superstitious things. And in another way, This plant has lucky powerful words. In the old Japanese language, what people say is  "難を転じて福と成す". ( It flip the disaster over to greater future. ) The plant's patterns often taken to some traditional Japanee lacquer tableware.  Actually, I have a chopstick which has a lacquer paint of the plant.

So, I made one powerful lucky ornament, it is absolutely inspired by this strong lucky plant.
